Billie Jean written by Michael Jackson
She was more like a beauty queen from a movie scene I said don't mind,
but what do you mean I am the one Who will dance on the floor in the round
She said I am the one Who will dance on the floor in the round

She told me her name was Billie Jean as she caused a scene Then every head turned
with eyes that dreamed of being the one Who will dance on the floor in the round

People always told me be careful what you do Don't go around breaking young girls' hearts
My mother always told me be careful who you love
Be careful what you do 'cause the lie becomes the truth, yeah

Billie Jean is not my lover She is just a girl who claims that I am the one
But the kid is not my son She says I am the one, but the kid is not my son

For forty days and for forty nights the law was on her side
But who can stand when she's in demand, her schemes and her plans
'cause we danced on the floor in the round So take my strong advice
Just remember to always think twice Do think twice

She told my baby we danced 'til three And she looked at me, and showed me a photo
My baby cried, his eyes where like mine Can we dance on the floor in the round

People always told me be careful what you do Don’t go around breaking young girls’ hearts
But she came and stood right by me Just to smell her sweet perfume
This happened much too soon She called me to her room

THE SMELL OF YOUR SWEET PERFUME premiered at the April 2008 LAPD event in Los Angeles, danced at BnB Friday April 18 ...A RARE photo of Simon Ward sun baked ...taken at 2008 LAPD.

Simon ...the 22 dancers in the Friday class loved The Scent of Your Sweet Perfume. I had a chance to listen to the lyrics while dancing and practicing for class this morning.
I heard dance on the floor in a round several times and saw the pattern in a round and taught it with that name. I heard think twice, do things twice ...brilliant those double ending turns!
And Just like Tom A and Carol E described at the event ...
I felt the music searing through me as we danced somewhere in the middle of the track ...DUDE are genius! Mel and Lou Ann's classes also loved your new fast waltz!

Lou Ann Schemmel correctly expains the 6 count ending of this dance. "There is a post on YouTube from Sue and Kathy; it is correct as theirs always are, except for the styling of the last six counts. As is often the case, if you didn't see the choreographer do the steps, it is difficult to get the styling from the sheet. Normally it wouldn't matter but it's the coolest part of the dance. :) The two full turns are not really like spirals - as in, your free leg does NOT wrap around (or spiral around) your weighted leg. Instead, Simon would like you to point the right toe away from your body as you spin - and maintain the leg in the same position throughout the spin - as if your right toe were drawing a circle around your body about two to three feet in diameter. So the free leg points to the floor a foot from your body as it circles around your weighted leg on counts 2 and 5 of that six counts. It's quite a dramatic look."
Last Friday night at Swiss Park we had 84 dancers in attendance ...granted not all were on the floor for this dance, BUT it is a FAST waltz and I kept my sweep close in so as not to trip others on that packed floor. When I am teaching I have the whole front row and can sweep as large as Simon did, Monday and Thursday classes do not have the same luxury of space, some even slow basic forward for 6 counts. Just be mindful of your dancin' spot.

1st Sat May at SueNKathy's Social ...a capacity floor danced Simon's waltz w/PERFECT passion!
